It is been up and down in my uni's life for the past two years...entering third year now... things have been circling around me and my course mate..happen just before end of first year...one of my course mate fell from her 1st floor. In injuring herself. Luckily, she is back and studying in UMS. Real life sure is tough. Not mistake in your decision. Just few months after the incident, another one of my course mate diagnose with leukemia.
Things sure funny. It was 2009 September. One year from then, now I found myself busy starting a fund for him. It was tough. But in mere one week, we manage to collect about RM 5k. Honestly, his monthly medicine cost RM 10k.
As his friend, and his trusted friend at UTM, I do not know what to do. I starter this fund. However, things become uncontrollable when certain people post on Facebook. I realise people are selfish and sarcastic. They thought they are helping by spreading, but they never realise the truth, my friend needs privacy. He need time and space.
Though, I appreciate the kindness and effort from them, but I hope everyone can spread through a much better way rather than Facebook's public wall. It really makes me feel guilty. He keep resist our help, and yet I am the one who betray him. And some people post it on Facebook.
Currently, I am working for official letter from UTM. Hope everyone will continue support this fund and spread out the message. Hopefully, the money we had gather will support him financially, and most important- the spirit of helping him. We all love you.
tat's why i was thinking so weird..thought u said dun put on fb..then i see notes after notes of his pic coming out..I thought it was a change of plan..but anyhow, i'm sure they meant to help..so let's keep it at that..At least it's not stopping people from donating and helping
ReplyDeleteYou can't said those are selfish and sarcastic. They really meant to help by spreading the news as i did so either. In the end, we just hope to gather enough money for his operation and financial support temporarily. Derrick, support you always!!! Stay strong and optimistic!
ReplyDeleteyup...hopefully our friend does not mind that people around him care for him so much....besides, the fund is not for his operation.
ReplyDeleteRm 200 000 is for his three months operation and medical. Our fund is to support his travel for routine check up at KL and etc. The fund will support his after three months medical fees. At least ease the burden.
